Soorty, one of the world’s leading vertical denim producers and a recognized innovator in responsible fashion, will launch Form & Freedom, its SS28 collection, at Kingpins Amsterdam this October. The collection is built around three concepts: Street, Kinetic, and Rebellion Rock – each built on a different relationship between clothing and purpose, translated into denimwear through construction, fiber, and finishing innovation.
Form & Freedom reflects a season of technical development across fiber content, dyeing technique, and performance engineering, with several innovations reaching commercial scale for the first time.
“This collection explores three very different ways of wearing denim,” said Eda Dikmen, General Manager, Marketing, Communications and Branding at Soorty. “One is classic, reliable, old-school and authentic – the kind of denim that already feels familiar. One is technical and functional, built for how people actually move through the day. And the last is more expressive, more fashion-led, denim as a form of self-expression. Form & Freedom is our way of saying all three are valid, and all three deserve real craftsmanship behind them. Denim is for everyone and everyday.”
Linen at Scale
One of the season’s most significant developments is Soorty’s expanded use of linen across the range. Rather than sitting in a single category, linen runs through multiple concepts, reflecting the broader industry shift toward breathability and lived-in character. Building on this, Soorty will also present a dedicated linen line in its non-denim collection this season, featuring lightweight, raw, and natural constructions alongside its denimwear offering.
Street
Street takes authenticity to the block, built around oversized, unrestricted silhouettes and lived-in surface finishes. Within Street, Old Friends, an area Soorty is now known for, offers classic constructions and familiar silhouettes enhanced with material science, modern fiber and weaving technology; Super Soft delivers hand-feel innovation achieved through fiber choice and construction rather than chemical finishing; and Weave Lab introduces 3D textures and special weaves including corded stripes, dobby twills, and other variations that offer added breathability and surface interest.
Kinetic
Kinetic translates functionality and adaptability into denim, drawing on technical wear, Scandinavian minimalism, and Japanese organizational design. Utility groups dense, structured constructions engineered around design intent. Climate Tech brings together multiple performance fiber technologies focusing on climate control, including COOLMAX® EcoMade, COOLMAX® All Seasons (both incorporating recycled content) and TruTemp365®, alongside a series of lightweight fabrics developed for warm-weather comfort. Superior100 combines Soorty’s traceable SOCI organic cotton, Tencel™ HV100, and refined linen through advanced spinning processes for an elevated hand-feel and a distinct visual cast. Color Lab moves beyond traditional indigo through a series of dye applications including colored weft, reactive-over-pigment dyeing, and yarn-dyed sulphur, so garments evolve naturally with wear rather than fading flat.
Rebellion Rock
Rebellion Rock channels 70s rock culture reinterpreted for a new generation, using denim as a canvas for self-expression through weathered washes, worn textures, and distressed surfaces. Cool Fade brings enhanced laser-reactive shades in indigo and black, delivering sharper contrast and a cleaner dry-process wash-down. Dawn is a range of fabrics designed with purpose considering the desired wash outcomes, pairing aggressive slub textures with ombré-inspired washes for a lived-in, layered depth that reflects deliberate construction rather than surface treatment alone. Stage combines stretch constructions, sateens, and dyed-weft fabrics for garments engineered to move freely and hold character over time.
Form & Freedom will launch at Soorty’s Fabrics and Garments booths at Kingpins Amsterdam October 14 -15, 2026.
