Asia bears the brunt. Asia absorbs ~80% of Gulf oil flows, with China heavily exposed and India, Pakistan and Thailand facing shortages, flight disruptions, subsidy strain and emergency measures.
Polyester margins squeezed. Middle East tensions are driving feedstock costs sharply higher, forcing production cuts and triggering force majeure events, leaving China’s polyester sector facing margin erosion and supply strain.
