Performance Days: Record Demand Drives Expansion to Three Exhibition Halls

PERFORMANCE DAYS is currently experiencing the strongest demand in its history. Expanding into three halls reflects the importance the platform has gained within the international industry.

PERFORMANCE DAYS continues its strong growth trajectory: In response to sustained demand from across the industry, the leading platform for functional fabrics and textile innovations will expand into three exhibition halls at Messe München for the first time in October 2026. With approximately 27,500 square meters of exhibition space, the event on October 13–14, 2026, will be the largest edition in the history of PERFORMANCE DAYS.

The expansion is a direct result of exceptional demand from the international textile industry. Months before the event opens, available exhibition space is already nearly sold out. PERFORMANCE DAYS expects to welcome more than 590 exhibitors from around the world.

This growth is particularly evident in the increasingly international exhibitor base. Numerous companies will be exhibiting in Munich for the first time in 2026, including industry leaders such as W. L. Gore & Associates GmbH, Niber Technologies Pte Ltd, Youngone Corporation, Hyundai Chemical Co. Ltd., Acelon Chemicals & Fiber Corporation, and Linz Textil GmbH. At the same time, a growing number of innovative material developers, technology providers, and start-ups are choosing PERFORMANCE DAYS as the platform to showcase their latest developments to a global audience.

“PERFORMANCE DAYS is currently experiencing the strongest demand in its history. Expanding into three halls reflects the importance the platform has gained within the international industry. Companies are looking for orientation, innovation, and meaningful face-to-face exchange – and that is exactly what PERFORMANCE DAYS stands for,” says Marco Weichert, CEO of PERFORMANCE DAYS.

The additional exhibition space will not only accommodate more exhibitors but also create room for new content and formats. Planned additions include new special areas, expanded theme worlds, and dedicated forums focusing on material innovations, garment technologies, and technical developments across the entire textile value chain.

In doing so, PERFORMANCE DAYS further strengthens its role as both an innovation platform and a knowledge hub for the functional textile industry. Visitors will benefit from even greater access to inspiration, market intelligence, and forward-looking solutions addressing the challenges of tomorrow.

A key highlight of the October edition will be the Focus Topic “Biobased Materials – From Fiber to Fabric.” The spotlight will be on bio-based innovations throughout the entire textile value chain, from next-generation fibers and innovative materials to market-ready fabric solutions.

The international PERFORMANCE DAYS network also continues to expand. In addition to the Munich events, the portfolio includes Functional Fabric Fair in New York, Portland, and Orlando, Functional Textiles Shanghai, and, in the future, Texfuture Tokyo.

“The global demand for specialized sourcing and innovation platforms continues to grow. Munich remains the heart of our international network, a place where innovation, business, and the industry’s future challenges come together,” Weichert adds.

With the largest edition in its history, PERFORMANCE DAYS reinforces its position as the leading sourcing and innovation platform for the functional textile industry. The expansion to three halls reflects both a rapidly evolving industry and a global network that continues to grow.

The message for October 2026 is clear: PERFORMANCE DAYS has never been bigger, more international, or more relevant than it is today.
